A quick and scenic thirty-minute drive from the Salt Lake City airport delivers you to Park City and Deer Valley. Although both are beautiful and worth visiting year-round, they come to life during winter with the annual Sundance Film Festival and ski season. A quick PSA to snowboarders— Deer Valley is a ski-only resort, but you are more than welcome at Park City, Snowbird, Alta, Brighton or Solitude Mountain.

STEIN ERIKSEN LODGE DEER VALLEY Inspired by the Olympic legend and his Norwegian heritage, this traditional ski lodge was the first luxury property in Park City and is Utah’s only Forbes Five-Star Hotel and Spa. ST. REGIS DEER VALLEY A funicular whisks guests 500 feet up to the resort in under 90 seconds, but this is not just any cable car- they were made by Gangloff of Berne, the makers of the first funicular railway in 1929 and the former carriage maker to European royalty. At the top, a yurt village is currently set up for aprés-ski featuring fondue and views of the valley. MONTAGE DEER VALLEY Our favorite feature of the hotel is their s’more set up at sundown. WASHINGTON SCHOOL HOUSE HOTEL Stay in a historic 19th-century schoolhouse-turned-hotel off of Main Street in the heart of Park City. FIRESIDE DINING Upper mountain's Empire Canyon Lodge serves dinner Wednesday through Saturday until early April. ROYAL STREET CAFÉ This casual go-to does cozy food with mid-mountain views. Part of Silver Lake Lodge, it's below Bald Mountain—in the winter, you can watch skiers coming down the slope for lunch; in summer, it's mountain bikers. WINDY RIDGE CAFÉ Situated down the road from Main Street, Windy Ridge feels like a true local's place. CHIMAYO Chimayo has become something of an institution in town, and Chef Flores and his team keep things exciting by using seasonal ingredients and riffing on classic Southwestern cuisine. Of particular note: the guacamole Azteca, served with snow crab, stuffed avocado, and roasted vegetables and Tierra + Mar fajitas, a mix of Kobe steak, jumbo shrimp, and pico de gallo. 350 MAIN Located right in town, 350 Main has been a Park City dinner spot for more than two decades. They are big on local ingredients, and even draw a bit from their own urban garden. BURGERS & BOURBON Located in the Montage Deer Valley with wraparound views of the Empire Express chairlift at the base of Deer Valley Mountain, Burgers & Bourbon serves comfort food at its best— gourmet burgers, fresh cut fries, hand-spun shakes, and craft spirits. VESSEL KITCHEN You wouldn’t think to make a quick stop at a strip mall in Kimball Junction, but it’s a great healthy eatery with avocado toast, grain bowls, and hearty vegetable soups, as well as Brussel sprouts, sweet potato hash, roasted cauliflower, and spicy kimchi slaw. SUNDANCE MOUNTAIN RESORT A 45-minute drive from Park City or Deer Valley, Sundance Mountain Resort is worth visiting in summer or winter apart from the film festival. The property includes a lodge, gift shop, skiing, snowboarding, biking, artist workshops, galleries, and a restaurant bedecked with images from founder Robert Redford’s films, including Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, from which the resort takes its name.
